Cheppang kelangu mutter tikka / cheppang kelangu Cutlet


I was watching a popular anithavin samayal cookery show. In that i was watching "Aloo mutter pudina ki tikki". Immediately i want to try that , But unfortunately i didn't have potato and also pudina at home.. I was thinking what to do??????

Finally i opened my fridge and i found one cheppang kelangu and few coriander stems :P.

Now Comes the recipe :)

Ingredients

Cheppang kelangu - 1
Green peas(Mutter) - 1 cup
Garam masala - 3 spoon
Coriander stem- 1/4 cup
Salt - to taste
Green chilly - 3 to 4
Rice flour- 1 table spoon
Bread crumbs - 1 table spoon
Oil - to fry

Method

1. Cook the cheppang Kelangu
2. I took frozen green peas, if possible you can take the fresh one
3. Take a mixie jar and grind the cooked cheppang kelangu, green peas, salt, garam masala,coriander stem
4. Mix the rice flour and bread crumbs with the grind mixture
5. Place a kadai in the stove and pour oil to fry
6. Take a small portion of the mixture and make a small vada shape of it and place it on the hot oil
7. Fry it until it becomes golden brown :)

Lemon rice

Lemon rice

Lemon rice is the easy and tastiest dish :) In most of festivals in my mom's place this is the starter rice for a lunch.. :)  Lemon rice with potato fry and masala vada is the awesome combination. :). Lets see how to prepare this.

Ingredients

Cooked Rice - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Green chilly - 3 to 4
Garlic cloves - 3
Curry leaves - 5
Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
Chana dal - 2 tea spoon
Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon
Hing - A pinch
Turmeric powder - A pinch
Oil - 3 table spoon
Lemon - 3 to 4 tea spoon (depends upon the taste)
Salt- to taste
Coriander leaves- few

Method

1. Place a kadai in a stove and pour oil
2. Add mustard seeds once it splutter add cumin seeds, chana dal,hing, chopped green chilles, curry leaves and turmeric powder.
3. Once chana dal is roasted, add the finely chopped onion into it
4. Add salt to the mixture and remove the kadai  from the stove and add Lemon juice.
5. Mix it  thoroughly with Cooked rice and add coriander leaves

Now Lemon rice is ready to serve :D

Potato beans poriyal

             Friends you may think while i mixed these 2 items together.. When we have less veggies, sometime we have to do like this...

This is very simple poriyal and it goes well with Lemon rice and Curd rice

Ingredients


Potato -2
Beans - 4 to 5(Only that much i had :D)
Red chilly- 2
Chilly powder - 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves - 3 leaves
Oil - 3 Spoons
Hing - A pinch
Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
Urad dal - 1 tea spoon

Preparation

1. Cut Potato and beans into tiny pieces
2. Steam cook the Potato and beans
3. Place a kadai in a stove and pour oil
4. Once the oil is heated up add Mustard seeds, urad dal ,curry leaves,red chilly, turmeric powder and hing
5. Add the steam cook Vegetables into that
6. Add the chilly powder and mix it well.

Now the Poriyal is ready to serve... This quiet easy and simple dish.. :)

Tomato Thaldha/ Simple Tomato kurma


Dear friends, After a week's time i started again. Tomato thaldha is simple and excellent dish mostly prepared in kannadiga's home. This goes very well with chappathi,dosa and appam too....

Ingredients

Tomato - 3
Onion - 1
Garlic Cloves - 3 to 4
Green chilly - 4 to 5 (Depends upon the taste)
Turmeric powder - 1 Pinch
oil - As required
Cilantro - 1 Table Spoon

To Grind

Coconut flakes - 1 cup
kasa kasa - 1 tea spoon

For tempering

Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds - 2 tea spoon
Curry leaves - 4 to 5 leaves

Preparation

1. Chop tomato,onion,green chillies into small pieces
2. Place the kadai and add some oil and place all the tempering items and allow it to splutter.
3. Add Green chilles, finely chopped onion,tomato,garlic and turmeric powder and allow it to cook
4. Grind the coconut flakes and kasakasa in a mixie jar
5. Add the "to grind" mixture
6. Allow it to cook for 5 to 10 minitues


Add some cilantro leave ad  Thaldha is ready to serve.

Spicy Masala Kadalai

Peanut/ Groundnut has so many health benefiting minerals, vitamins and anti oxidants which are essential for the human health.. College la kadalai podumpothu kuda oru masala kadalai eruntha eppadi erukum..

One day i was travelling from a small village near bangalore to Bangalore City. One Kadalai seller came that way and he was selling kadalai by saying "Time pass Masala kadalai".  :) See friends like this way masala kadalai is there in every stage of our life ... :)


Jokes and mokkai's apart. Lets have a look at the ingredients and method.

Ingredients 

Peanuts - 1 cup
Besan flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - 2 spoons
Chilly powder - 1 Spoon
Hing - A pinch
Breadcrumbs - 2 table Spoon
Salt - to taste
oil - to fry
water - (As required)

Method 


1.Take besan flour,rice flour,chilly powder,hing and required amount of salt in a bowl and mix it
2. Place oil in a kadai and pour some hot oil  into the mixture of flour.
3. Place the Peanuts into the mixture and mix it by pouring water little by little.
4. Make a mixture like semi solid one and add the bread crumbs to it and place the peanuts one by one to the oil and fry it till it becomes golden brown.


Now Masala kadali is ready to serve

Ragi Pakoda is the yummy dish. I used to have it when  i was studying in college days. Ragi is very healthy grain. But so many people didn't like that because of its color. ha ha. Ok my dear friends looks doesn't matters, Taste really matters right :P.. So quickly we will see the ingredients and செய்முறை :)

Ingredients 

Ragi flour - 1 Cup
Onion  - 1 (finely Chopped)
Green Chilly - 3 to 4
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 cup
Dill leaves - 1/4 cup
Peanuts - Optional
Salt - to taste
Oil - to fry
Water- to mix

 Method 

1. Take a cup of ragi flour in a bowl.
2. Add Chopped Onion,finely chopped green chillies,coriander leaves,dill leaves,peanuts and salt to the ragi        flour
3.Mix all the ingredients with little water and make it a strong dough
4. Heat the oil in the kadai and place the handful of dough into it
5. Fry till it gets cooked

Ragi pakoda is ready to serve. It goes well with Tea/ Masala Tea...

Hello friends, Welcome to MamuJp's Corner. Today i am going to show you how to make sabakshi soppu pakoda. People who know kannada will know about this. But for others it is a leaf variety( Keerai). Lets quickly go through the steps to do it...


Ingredients


Besan flour - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1 table spoon
Hing - A Pinch
Dill leaves/ Sabakshi soppu - 1/2 cup
Green chilly - 4
Coriander leaves- 1/4 cup
Chopped onion - 1/2 cup
Salt - To taste
oil - To fry

Method

1. Mix besan flour, rice flour,Hing,sabakshi soppu,chopped green chillies,coriander leaves, salt in a bowl.
2. Heat the oil in pan
3. Pour some hot oil into this mixture and mix well. The mixture should be thick like this
4. Take some mixture and fry it in a oil till it become golden brown.
5. Take out the Pakoda from the oil and place it in the paper towel to remove excess oil if any.

Now the pakoda is ready to serve. It goes well for the tea time snack as well as starter.
